About the manufacturer
Sine Qua Non
Sine Qua Non is a California winery from Paso Robles, renowned for its unconventional and extremely limited productions. The founder and winemaker follows a radical philosophy: each bottle is a work of art, each Vintage an experiment with its own name and often its own design.
You won't find any standard Wines here. Sine Qua Non works with unusual grape blends and boldly experiments with vinification and style. Wines like "The Hated Hunter" or "Kolibri" are an expression of this artistic freedom – intense, complex, and often polarizing. The winery deliberately produces in tiny quantities, making these Wines highly sought-after collector's items.
Quality is non-negotiable. Despite the playful approach, the Wines produced possess great depth and aging potential, offering a unique interpretation of the Californian terroir. Each bottling tells a story and challenges you to reconsider your expectations of taste.
At Wine In Time you will find a curated selection of these rare treasures – for all those who dare to drink beyond the ordinary.

Piranha Waterdance
The Sine Qua Non Piranha Waterdance 2014 is a monument to Californian winemaking, crafted by the visionary Manfred Krankl. Originating from the stony terroir of Eleven Confessions Vineyard in California, this Syrah embodies the uncompromising pursuit of perfection for which Sine Qua Non is celebrated worldwide. Each bottle is part of a strictly limited edition – Wines that make history.
The vinification follows Krankl's unmistakable style: hand-picked grapes, spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, and aging in French barriques without fining or filtration. The Piranha Waterdance 2014 is thus created in its purest, most authentic form – a wine that speaks of terroir and Vintage unfiltered.
On the nose, an intoxicating kaleidoscope of dark cherries, black olives, dried violets, and a hint of smoked meat unfolds. On the palate, the Sine Qua Non Piranha Waterdance 2014 is dense, complex, and electrifying: silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a salty minerality that binds everything together. The finish is endless, carried by dark fruit, graphite, and a delicate herbal spice.
