The Arnaud Ente Refers Premier Cru 2009 This wine comes from one of Burgundy's most discreet yet celebrated winemakers. Arnaud Ente cultivates only a few hectares of vines in Meursault and vinifies exclusively on a small scale – his Wines are correspondingly rare and sought after. The Referts vineyard is situated in a first-class Premier Cru site, where chalky soils impart a firm mineral structure to the Chardonnay. The wine is traditionally vinified in small wooden barrels with spontaneous fermentation by wild yeasts. Arnaud Ente emphasizes minimal intervention – no bâtonnage, no fining, no unnecessary sulfur. The wine matures for approximately 18 months on its fine lees, developing its characteristic buttery creaminess without losing any of its freshness. This maturation gives the 2009 Referts a rare combination of opulence and elegance.

The nose reveals ripe yellow fruit – mirabelle plum, peach, ripe apple – accompanied by delicate toasty notes, butter, and white blossoms. On the palate, a dense yet silky texture unfolds with vibrant acidity that supports the wine and lends it tension. Mineral notes of flint and chalk permeate the body, joined by nutty aromas and a hint of honey. The finish is long, precise, and characterized by a salty-mineral freshness that invites another sip.
