About the manufacturer
Faiveley
Faiveley is a traditional winery in the heart of Burgundy, renowned for generations for its exceptional Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the estate boasts one of the most impressive portfolios of Grands and Premiers Crus in the region – from the elegant Musigny to the powerful Mazis Chambertin.
What distinguishes Faiveley is its unwavering dedication to classic Burgundy style: refined, mineral, and with great aging potential. The estate cultivates over 120 hectares of vineyards and combines traditional methods with modern expertise. Grape selection is meticulous, fermentation is natural, and aging in oak barrels is respectfully measured – never overpowering, always in service of the terroir.
Faiveley Wines are characterized by their transparency: you taste the different soils, the microclimates of the individual vineyard sites, not the winemaker's hand. They are Wines for connoisseurs who appreciate subtle nuances and understand that great Burgundy needs time to develop its full complexity.

The Faiveley Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2016 is one of the absolute icons of Burgundy White Wine . The venerable Faiveley estate cultivates one of the most sought-after parcels in Puligny-Montrachet and vinifies a Chardonnay of exceptional quality. The grapes come from the Grand Cru vineyard Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, a tiny appellation with a chalky terroir that produces Wines of tremendous minerality and longevity.
The wine is traditionally vinified in barriques, where it matures gently in the wood, developing its buttery complexity. Spontaneous fermentation and extended lees aging lend it additional texture and depth. The 2016 Vintage is considered classic in Burgundy – fresh, precise, and with excellent aging potential. Faiveley perfectly balances power and elegance.
On the nose, a captivating bouquet unfolds, revealing ripe stone fruits, brioche, roasted hazelnuts, and a hint of honeycomb. On the palate, the 2016 Faiveley Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet is creamy yet never heavy. Buttery notes meld with delicate vanilla, while vibrant acidity provides freshness and vibrancy. The finish is endless, mineral, and marked by a precise saline texture – a wine that lingers long after the last sip.
