Charlemagne
The Bonneau du Martray Charlemagne Grand Cru 2022 is one of the greatest White Wines from Burgundy – a monument to Burgundian winemaking. The Bonneau du Martray estate exclusively cultivates the Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, a vineyard with centuries of tradition in the Côte de Beaune. Here, on chalky soils in a privileged hillside location, grows Chardonnay of unique finesse and mineral power.
The vinification process is classic and uncompromising: spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, aging in French oak barrels without any intervention that would distort the character. The Bonneau du Martray Charlemagne 2022 matures slowly and carefully until its full complexity unfolds. The result is a wine of monumental structure and crystalline precision.
On the nose, the 2022 Charlemagne reveals aromas of white peach, apple blossom, and a hint of hazelnut, underpinned by fine minerality and delicate toasty notes. On the palate, creamy richness is paired with vibrant acidity – a tension that makes the wine lively and incredibly long. The finish is salty and mineral, interwoven with citrus and an elegant, perfectly integrated oak note.
At Wine In Time, you can conveniently order this exceptional Grand Cru online – with express delivery directly to your door in Vienna. Discover our selection of White Wines, including other Burgundian rarities.
