Corton Charlemagne
The Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2016 is among Burgundy's most exceptional White Wines. The Bonneau du Martray estate has cultivated one of the most prestigious vineyards in the Côte de Beaune – the Corton-Charlemagne – as a monopoly for centuries. The vines are rooted in calcareous soils at an altitude of 300 meters, cultivated biodynamically, hand-harvested, and undergo spontaneous fermentation. A wine that exudes respect for tradition and terroir.
The Chardonnay matures for 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new, without fining or filtration. The result is a wine of crystalline purity and enormous concentration. The 2016 Vintage impresses with a perfect balance between power and elegance – a Vintage that has delighted critics worldwide.
On the nose, notes of white peach, acacia blossom, roasted hazelnuts, and salty minerality unfold. On the palate, the 2016 Corton Charlemagne is taut and precise, with a creamy texture, lively acidity, and a hint of flint. The finish is long, cool, and fascinatingly deep—a wine that evolves over hours.
