The Bonneau du Martray Corton Grand Cru 2018 is one of the finest expressions of Burgundian Pinot Noir culture. The Bonneau du Martray estate has cultivated one of the most prestigious vineyards in the Côte de Beaune – the Corton hill – for generations and is among the region's Grand Cru specialists. The vines root deeply in calcareous soils, which impart the wine with its mineral precision and elegance.
The 2018 Bonneau du Martray Corton is vinified using traditional methods: hand-harvested grapes, gentle whole-cluster fermentation, and aged in French oak barrels with a moderate proportion of new oak. This classic approach preserves the finesse of the fruit and allows the terroir to speak for itself. The 2018 Vintage is considered one of Burgundy's great Vintages – sunny, concentrated, and perfectly ripe.
On the nose, this Grand Cru unfolds aromas of dark cherries, raspberries, and delicate rose and violet notes, underpinned by forest floor, subtle smoke, and spices. On the palate, it is robust and structured, with silky tannins and a lively acidity that adds tension. The finish is long and elegant, with a mineral echo – a wine that takes you on a journey through Burgundian tradition.
