Cote Rotie Brune and Blonde de Guigal
The Guigal Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde de Guigal 2009, presented in an impressive 1,5-liter magnum, is a tribute to the two renowned vineyards of the Northern Rhône: the sun-drenched, iron-rich soils of the Côte Blonde and the powerful, clay-rich terroirs of the Côte Brune. The venerable Guigal winery unites the best of both worlds to create a Syrah of exceptional complexity. Rhône Wines are considered the benchmark for elegant, characterful Red Wines – and this Côte-Rôtie is among the very best.
The 2009 Vintage offered optimal conditions for the ripening of the Syrah grapes. Vinification is carried out using classic methods: temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, followed by extended aging in French oak barrels, which impart structure and finesse to the wine. The Guigal Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde de Guigal 2009 Magnum demonstrates respect for the terroir and artisanal perfection.
On the nose, a bouquet of dark cherries, cassis, and smoky notes of roast ham unfolds. Violets and a hint of black pepper round out the aroma profile. On the palate, the wine is powerful and structured, with silky tannins that are perfectly integrated. The mineral depth and balanced acidity carry through to the long, spicy finish.
