About the manufacturer
Emmanuel Rouget
Emmanuel Rouget is one of the big names from Vosne-Romanée and ranks among the top producers of the Côte de Nuits. The small estate cultivates parcels in some of Burgundy's finest vineyards – including legendary terroirs like Echezeaux and Cros Parantoux. What makes Rouget special is his purist philosophy: minimal intervention in the cellar, respectful treatment of the grapes, and a trust in the authenticity of the terroir. His Pinot Noirs are characterized by elegant structure, fine tannins, and impressive complexity – they are not bombastic, but precise and expressive.
The Wines mature in open fermentation tanks and are traditionally aged in wooden barrels. The result is Burgundy Wines with great aging potential, combining power and finesse in equal measure. Whether the accessible Village Wines or the Grand Crus – you'll recognize Rouget's craftsmanship and uncompromising commitment to quality in every one.
At Wine In Time you will find a carefully curated selection of his best bottles – authentic Burgundies that you can drink exactly as they were intended.

The Emmanuel Rouget Echezeaux 2016 is a Grand Cru of exceptional quality. Emmanuel Rouget, nephew and heir of the legendary Henri Jayer, cultivates some of the most sought-after parcels in Burgundy . His Wines are considered the epitome of precision, purity, and Burgundian elegance – the Echezeaux 2016 is no exception.
The grapes for this Pinot Noir come from one of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits. Vinification is carried out with the utmost care: spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, gentle extraction, and aging in French oak barrels give the wine structure without masking its finesse. Rouget works with minimal intervention – the wine should let the terroir speak for itself.
On the nose, a complex bouquet of red cherries, raspberries, and wild strawberries unfolds, accompanied by notes of violets, undergrowth, and delicate spice. On the palate, the 2016 Emmanuel Rouget Echezeaux is silky and dense, with perfectly integrated tannins and vibrant acidity that lends the wine tension and length. The finish is long, elegant, and marked by subtle minerality.
