About the manufacturer
FX Pichler
FX Pichler is one of the Wachau's top wineries and represents Riesling of the highest caliber. With its vineyards on the steep slopes of the Danube, this Austrian winery has been producing Wines of impressive minerality and elegance for generations. Vineyards like Steinertal and Kellerberg are classics that demonstrate just how magnificent Austrian Riesling can be – powerful, precise, and with a saline minerality that instantly transports you to the Wachau.
What makes FX Pichler special is the combination of tradition and precision. The grapes are selectively harvested, and fermentation occurs spontaneously with wild yeasts – resulting in Wines of incredible depth and complexity. The characteristic FX Pichler style is dry, mineral, and age-worthy, without sacrificing elegance. You won't find overripe or over-extracted Wines here, but rather purism in the truest sense.
With 26 products in our range, you can explore the full spectrum of this winery – from classic single-vineyard Wines to experimental cuvées. At Wine In Time, you get authentic Wachau classics from a producer who has maintained unwavering standards for decades.

Kellerberg
The FX Pichler Kellerberg Riesling 2023 comes from one of the most prestigious vineyards in the Wachau region and embodies the signature style of one of Austria's most important wineries. Franz Xaver Pichler has cultivated the steep terraces of the Kellerberg vineyard for decades with an uncompromising focus on quality. The grapes ripen on barren slate soils, which impart the wine with its characteristic minerality. Wines from Austria reach world-class status here.
Vinification is carried out with the utmost care: spontaneous fermentation in large wooden casks, extended lees aging, no oak aging – Pichler lets the terroir take center stage. The Kellerberg is one of those Wines that arises not through intervention, but through reduction. What happens in the cellar serves solely to achieve clarity and precision of expression.
On the nose, the FX Pichler Kellerberg Riesling 2023 reveals green nuances: green apple, lime zest, and freshly cut grass. These are complemented by flinty notes and a delicate herbal spice. On the palate, a crystalline structure unfolds with vibrant acidity that supports and ties the wine together. Minerality dominates, accompanied by citrus freshness and a hint of salinity. The finish is long, cool, and incredibly precise – a wine that doesn't seduce, but convinces.
