Les Caillerets
The Domaine Yvon Clerget Les Caillerets 2023 comes from one of the most sought-after Premier Cru vineyards in Volnay, in the heart of Burgundy . Domaine Yvon Clerget cultivates its parcels with uncompromising manual labor and deep respect for the terroir. Les Caillerets is considered a prime example of Burgundian elegance – the chalky soils impart a mineral tension to the Pinot Noir that permeates the entire wine.
After selective hand-harvesting, the grapes are gently destemmed and fermented in open wooden vats. The wine is then aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, approximately 30 percent of which are new. This vinification preserves the delicate fruit aromas and underscores the silky texture for which Volnay is renowned. The Domaine Yvon Clerget Les Caillerets 2023 presents itself as a classic wine without appearing over-extracted.
On the nose, notes of cherries, red currants, and delicate spices unfold, accompanied by a hint of forest floor and fresh herbs. On the palate, the wine impresses with a silky texture, precise acidity, and fine tannins. The finish is long, mineral, and characterized by subtle elegance – a wine that perfectly balances depth and finesse.
