Corton Charlemagne
The Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 1993 embodies the exceptional style of one of Burgundy's most prestigious wineries. For centuries, Bonneau du Martray has cultivated exclusive parcels on the legendary Corton hill in the Côte de Beaune , where even Charlemagne cultivated vines. This Grand Cru site produces Chardonnay of rare depth and complexity.
The 1993 Vintage is considered a classic Burgundy Vintage, characterized by cool conditions that favored slow ripening and precise aromatics. The grapes were hand-harvested and vinified in the traditional Burgundy style: slow pressing, aging in French oak barrels, and minimal intervention. The result is a wine of monumental structure, long past its youth and now shining in its most beautiful phase of maturity.
On the nose, a buttery and complex aroma unfolds with notes of roasted hazelnuts, ripe stone fruit, and a hint of honey. On the palate, the 1993 Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne displays powerful minerality, a creamy texture, and perfectly integrated acidity. The finish is long, spicy, and marked by elegant maturity – a wine that tells a story.
